BSPNTX Announces Partnership with FC Dallas

July 9, 2024

DALLAS – The National Society of Black Sports Professionals North Texas (BSPNTX) is excited to announce a partnership with FC Dallas.

As a part of this sponsorship, FC Dallas is committed to enhancing the chapter's programs and events, providing opportunities to expose its members to the soccer industry and career opportunities within the sport, and supporting the chapter’s scholarships initiative that recognizes college students with North Texas ties.

FC Dallas, owned by Hunt Sports LLC led by brothers Clark Hunt and Dan Hunt, is in its 29th season as a Major League Soccer franchise. Since acquiring the club, formerly known as the Dallas Burn, from Major League Soccer in 2003, FC Dallas has developed the 145-acre Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas, where it plays its home matches. FC Dallas and its affiliates operate the MLS NEXT Academy, youth programs as well as MLS NEXT Pro’s North Texas SC. FC Dallas won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 1997 and 2016 and earned the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2016.

"FC Dallas is excited to partner with Black Sports Professionals North Texas, recognizing the critical role the chapter plays in promoting diversity and inclusion within the sports industry," said FC Dallas Vice President of Marketing Jerome Elenez. "Through this collaboration, we see tremendous opportunities to not only support the professional development and career advancement of Black sports professionals but also to explore business collaborations that can drive mutual growth and innovation. Together, we aim to create impactful initiatives that benefit our organizations and the wider community, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic sports landscape in the Dallas-Fort Worth area."

FC Dallas becomes the ninth organization and fifth professional sports franchise to become a BSPNTX partner, joining three founding partners (Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars and Dallas Cowboys) and the Texas Rangers, along with Reveal Suits, UNT Sport Entertainment Management and FastSigns North Arlington.

"Bringing on FC Dallas as our newest partner emphasizes our commitment to bring the most diverse offering of career growth and professional development opportunities we can to our membership," said BSPNTX President Larry Lundy. "We are excited to develop synergies with FC Dallas and in collaboration with our other partners that will benefit the long-term viability and success of Black sports professionals in one of the top sports business regions in the country."
