BSPNTX Announces Partnership with UNT Sport Entertainment Management

July 1, 2022

DALLAS – The National Society of Black Sports Professionals North Texas (BSPNTX) is excited to announce a partnership with the University of North Texas (UNT) Sport Entertainment Management programs.

As a part of this sponsorship, BSPNTX and UNT Sport Entertainment Management will work collaboratively to create an in-person educational opportunity for chapter members and potential program candidates and cross-promote the program and chapter across their respective digital and social media platforms.

In partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, UNT offers traditional Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sport Entertainment Management degree programs in Frisco as well as a separate online professional MBA in Sport Entertainment Management degree program, which is developed to accommodate working professionals. The course content for this program is online, yet students are invited to three weekend bootcamps hosted by UNT and the Dallas Cowboys at either the Cowboys Headquarters at The Star in Frisco or AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

"Over the last four years, we have been fortunate to build one of the strongest MBA programs in Sport Entertainment Management in the nation,” said UNT Professor and Director of Sport Entertainment Management Bob Heere. “We are very close to 100 percent job placement among our students, with graduates now working at every major sport franchise in DFW. What we are most proud of though, is that we have been able to do this with an incredibly diverse student population, a rarity in our field. We now have Black and Latino graduates working at the Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks and FC Dallas. From that perspective, aligning ourselves with BSPNTX and supporting their goals makes perfect sense as many of our students are potential members and would benefit greatly from engaging with the organization."

UNT Sport Entertainment Management becomes the fourth organization to become a BSPNTX partner, joining the Dallas Mavericks, Reveal Suits and Texas Rangers.

"Partnering with UNT is another step for BSPNTX to develop educational and career advancement opportunities for the underrepresented in our area who are looking to enhance or advance their careers in and around the world of sports," said BSPNTX President Larry Lundy.
