DALLAS – The National Society of Black Sports Professionals North Texas (BSPNTX) is hosting its second BSPNTX Summit on Saturday, April 19 on the campus of the University of North Texas at Frisco.
The chapter's second sports-centric conference is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Frisco Landing 130 Room on the UNT at Frisco campus. Registration (CLICK TO REGISTER) is $40 for current BSPNTX professional-level members, $75 for professional-level non-members and $25 for college students (members and non-members).
The Summit is slated to feature engaging sessions led by sports leaders providing insights on their career paths and experiences as well as networking opportunities with sports professionals with connections and influence in the top sports business city in the country.
"Our BSPNTX Summit offers a great opportunity for professionals of all experience levels with interest in the sports industry to engage with and learn from some of the top industry leaders in the country," said BSPNTX Vice President & Treasurer Greer Christian. "We purposely crafted this year's session to address timely topics impacting the world of sports and provide multiple opportunities for networking and nurturing relationships for career development and personal growth."
The Summit’s panels are built on BSPNTX’s core values to CONNECT, EMPOWER and ADVANCE Black sports professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, opening with breakfast and a welcome and opening comments before conducting two one-hour morning sessions. A networking lunch anchors the midway portion of the schedule before ending with an afternoon session, closing comments and a structured, event-closing networking opportunity.
BSPNTX is the fastest-growing organization for sports professionals in North Texas and one of the leading chapters in the Black Sports Professionals network. The chapter’s active membership has maintained strong numbers over the last two years and its collection of seven partnerships includes relationships with major sports franchises and highly regarded companies and organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In the last four years, BSPNTX has awarded $69,500 in scholarship dollars to fund 38 scholarships for 33 college students with North Texas ties striving to be among the next generation of professionals with careers in the sports industry. The chapter's 2024-25 scholarship distribution went to a single-year high 12 students receiving a single-year record of $25,000.
